Battery suspect joins brother in jail

MUNCIE, Ind. – An Anderson man has joined his brother in the Delaware County jail.

Christopher Lee Moore, 34, was arrested Tuesday on charges, filed in June, that allege he joined his 40-year-old brother, John Edward Moore, in attacking a Delaware County couple outside their rural home.

Christopher Moore is accused of threatening to kill a woman during a May 4 incident in the 6900 block of North Delaware County Road 700-W, and punching her in the face.

He is charged with aiding, inducing or causing aggravated battery, a Level 3 felony carrying up to 16 years in prison, and battery resulting in bodily injury, a misdemeanor.

John Moore, arrested Aug. 25, is accused of striking the boyfriend of his brother’s alleged victim in the face with a hammer, inflicting injuries that included a fractured eye socket and a broken nose.

He is charged with aggravated battery and battery with a deadly weapon.

The Anderson men are being held under $30,000 bonds.

Christopher Moore is set to stand trial Oct. 17 in Madison Circuit Court 5 on four charges – three counts of neglect of a dependent, and maintaining a common nuisance – filed last November.
