Bridge closing to affect MITS bus route

MUNCIE, Ind. – The closing of the Tillotson Avenue bridge for a complete rebuild beginning Monday, March 27, will affect MITS bus route 2, Ball State-Jackson service, which runs every half-hour beginning at 6:30 a.m.

Starting Monday, buses on that route will travel to the Youth Opportunity Center by going on Nichols Avenue to Kilgore Avenue to the YOC and back.

The 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. trips Monday-Friday will go to Marsh instead of the YOC, according to a release from MITS. All other trips will go to the YOC.

Officials said earlier this week that the Tillotson Avenue bridge would be closed through October for a $2.2-million project to replace the deck and restore or replace the superstructure of the bridge.
