LYNN – A Lynn woman faces criminal charges over allegations she threw buckets of urine on a neighbor’s house.

Jackie VanTyle, 69, of the 700 block of Westwood Drive, is charged with two counts of criminal mischief.

According to court documents, VanTyle’s neighbor called Lynn police to his home Oct. 14 and reported he believed VanTyle had been throwing urine on an outside wall.

The officer reported “a very strong odor of urine hit me” as he approached the northwest corner of the house, and said the condition of the home’s siding made it “obvious something was (being) thrown.”

The neighbor then installed a camera, and on Oct. 17 and Oct. 18, produced recordings that allegedly show VanTyle “throwing a liquid on his house,” the report indicated.

Interviewed Oct. 18, VanTyle at first denied knowledge of the vandalism. Later, however, she admitted she had been collecting her own urine in a bucket for several months, then throwing the body waste onto her neighbor’s house when he would leave his home.

Asked why, VanTyle reportedly responded, “I don’t like him. He’s a bad neighbor.”

The criminal mischief charges filed by Randolph County Prosecutor David Daly’s office last Friday are Class A misdemeanors carrying maximum one-year jail terms.

Court documents were accompanied by estimates of the cost of replacing the damaged siding on the victim’s home. They ranged from $2,100 to $3,798. Estimated cost of cleaning the existing siding ranged from $200 to $329.76.

An initial hearing in the case is set Jan. 12 in Randolph Superior Court.
