A Muncie man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly posted threatening comments targeting city police officers on Facebook.

Cody Tyler Stamper, 30, was preliminarily charged with three counts of intimidation on a law enforcement officer, and resisting law enforcement.

According to an affidavit, two of the officers mentioned in Stamper's postings were Police Chief Steve Stewart and veteran officer Jesse Neal. The Muncie man allegedly wrote that he wanted 30 seconds with Stewart with "no cameras."

When investigators with the MPD's narcotics unit went to Stamper's home — at 1523 E. Jackson St. — to arrest him Tuesday afternoon, he allegedly refused to surrender and fought with officers.

The Muncie man has had previous encounters with police. He was arrested in June 2013 after he allegedly threatened officers — and spit on one — at his father's home.

Since 2009, Stamper has been convicted of battery resulting in bodily injury, resisting law enforcement (twice), attempted criminal trespass, driving while intoxicated (twice), possession of marijuana (twice), public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Charges of resisting law enforcement, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia filed against him last November are pending in Muncie City Court.
