Miller is an Academy Award nominated film director best known for his narrative features, “Moneyball,” “Capote” and “Foxcatcher.” In 2005, he earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Director for “Capote,” starring Philip Seymour Hoffman in his Oscar-winning performance as Truman Capote. Miller’s 2011 feature, “Moneyball,” was also praised by critics and went on to receive six Academy Award nominations. For his most recent feature, “Foxcatcher,” Miller was honored at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival with the Best Director Prize and received a second Academy Award nomination for Best Director.

Letterman, who retired six months ago as host of The Late Show on CBS, often gave Ball State valuable national recognition during his reign as the longest-serving late night talk show host in TV history.
